About
A small senior studio, on purpose.
JJAM Design is the end-to-end design studio for software teams — one team for product, marketing, and the front-end build. We stayed small because that’s the only way to keep every shipped surface at the same quality bar.
Principles
Four rules. They don’t bend.
Type does the work.
Hierarchy is visible in two seconds. We use color, ornament, and motion sparingly — and earn each one.
One accent at a time.
Restraint reads as confidence. A single accent moment per viewport is enough; two looks like a brochure.
Ship the design, not the deck.
Design ends in code. The frontend is part of the design, and we write it when the team needs us to.
Calibrate to the audience.
No corporate voice for designers, no designer voice for ops. The work sounds like the person reading it.
Team
Senior. All in. Three of us.
Jordan
Co-founder · Principal product designer
Twelve years in software, mostly in healthtech and dev-tools. Hires designers like an engineer hires engineers, and treats brand and product as one job.
Mira
Founding designer · Brand + product
Bridges product, brand, and frontend. The person who pushes back when a token is about to become a one-off, and writes the system that keeps it from happening again.
Alex
Founding engineer · Frontend + design systems
Writes the React + Tailwind that ships the design — not a Figma file. Treats the design system as production code and the front-end as part of the brand surface.
How we work
The shape of every engagement.
Small senior team
Three people, all senior. You’ll never get handed off to a junior. The person on the kickoff is the person on the launch.
Two-week iteration loops
Every two weeks: a ship, a review, a decision. Long enough to make real progress, short enough to course-correct.
Bias toward systems
We don’t ship one-offs. Every deliverable extends a system the team can keep using after we leave.
What we won’t do
A short list, but a clear one.
We say no often. It’s the only way to keep saying yes to the work we’re proud of.
- 01Award-show theater work that nobody can ship
- 02Logo-only engagements without a system around them
- 03Hourly billing that punishes speed
- 04Endless deliverables — we ship and leave
Sound right?
